AUPO FCC Statement

Apr 27, 2020

Dear Fellowship Directors and Coordinators: The AUPO-FCC and PDC (Program Directors Council) would like to reiterate the standing policy that applicants' OKAP scores  are discouraged from being  requested from applicants or programs, as this is not the intent of the OKAP examination (stated previously by the AAO as well).  The examination is a formative measurement of ophthalmic knowledge to be used confidentially by programs and residents in guiding residents' learning processes and preparation for board certification examinations. Particularly this year when COVID-19 epidemic affected the administration of the exam we ask you not to request exam performance information from programs or applicants.

Fellowship Directors can login to the online system and view documentation entered by fellows. AUPO FCC Spring Newsletter

May 16, 2018

With just a couple of months left in the 2017/2018 academic year, fellows should be fully engaged in your program and their learning process. This is a good time to review compliance requirements, to make adjustments, and to check that your program is achieving its goals related to fellow education.

Remind your fellows the deadline to complete exit surveys is the last day of their fellowship program between June 30 and July 7. If your fellow will stay past June 30, please email AUPO FCC Staff at to let us know. All 3 parts of the survey will need to be complete in order for the fellow to submit. Fellow Exit Survey answers are anonymous; programs may only view the Case Log section after it has been submitted.
