The AUPO FCC, a Limited Liability Corporation, is a non-profit professional medical organization committed to the establishment of ophthalmology training standards in fellowship programs.

What's Happening

The central application system (CAS) portal will open on July 1, 2022. These dates are also for fellowships not using CAS.  Important dates are as follows.

  • Applicant registration opens: Wednesday, July 1, 2022
  • CAS Target Date: Wednesday, August 31, 2022
  • Program and Applicant Rank list due: Monday, December 5, 2022
  • Match Results Announced: Monday, December 12, 2022
  • Post-match Vacancies: Tuesday, December 13, 2022
  • Training to begin: July 2023

The interview cycle will be conducted in person this year. However, programs can choose virtual interviews. 

For those using the CAS, all interview offers must occur through the central scheduling system.

All fellowships must start on or after July 1, 2023. Programs are strongly encouraged to start on July 8, 2023 to allow fellows to complete their residency, ending June 30, 2023. Fellowship directors are strongly encouraged to coordinate start dates with the incoming fellow(s)’ Residency Program Director.

Programs that are scheduled for their Triennial or Quadrennial Review, received an email notice with instructions. The Triennial / Quadrennial reviews are an important part of the process for your program's continued compliant status. Reviews are due August 1, 2022.
